Where Design Leaders Go

I just got my media accreditation for

Dwell On Design

and between that and a slew of interviews I’ve been doing for an incredible event – more on that later – it feels like I’m back in pre-production again.

The Los Angeles Design Festival 2013 kicks off this weekend and Dwell is just one of the events happening over two weeks as the design community at-large celebrates our status as a global design capital.  Although we’re famous for entertainment to most folks, you may not know that design comes in a close second.

Dwell happens June 21-23 with a line-up of 200 speakers on three stages.  I’m always a big fan of the home tours and the fabulous, prefab homes.  This year ASID also has a big presence, not only moving it’s national conference to the show, but also partnering on the development of REGREEN, the nation’s first sustainable residential remodeling guidelines.

But New Yorkers don’t have to feel left out.  Join industry leader Keith Granet as he interviews Bjarke Ingels as part of hisInside The Business of Design speaker series at the New School.

Bjarke Ingels started BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) in 2005 after co-founding PLOT Architects in 2001.  His big-think approach to developing buildings that are as programmatically and technically innovative as they are cost and resource conscious has been dubbed hedonistic sustainability.

And yes, Keith Granet also had something to do with all my prep!  Stay tuned…
